The listings package is a source code printer for LaTeX.
You can typeset stand alone files as well as listings with an environment similar to verbatim as well as you can print code snippets using a command similar to \verb.
Many parameters control the output and if your preferred programming language isn't already supported, you can make your own definition.

2004/10/17:
Two bugs have been fixed.
Download the patch file (right-click, 13 578 Bytes) and replace your version of lstpatch.sty.
2004/09/07:
Listings 1.3 is available−the third bugfix release with some new language definitions and minor improvements.
2004/02/19:
Listings 1.2 is available.
It is the second bugfix release introducing two new keys and an interesting but highly experimental feature, see the paragraph News and Changes in the preface.

The update-archive (37 907 Bytes) with updated files fixes some bugs and adds the languages [x86masm]{Assembler} and [Visual]{Basic} (both contributed by other people).
The files should replace the existing ones.
